This is PlainBridges's public record of verified data corrections and material methodology changes. We add entries only when they are corroborated by the source data or a published pipeline change.
August 12, 2026: clarified National Bridge Inventory limitations
We clarified that an NBI record describes the latest reported inventory condition and is not a live safety, closure, or travel decision. This changed the explanation around the data, not the underlying FHWA record.
July 29, 2026: corrected bridge-condition terminology
We corrected our description of FHWA bridge-condition terminology so that it matches the source program's definitions. The correction was made in the shared content and therefore applies consistently wherever that explanation appears.
